As I mentioned in an earlier post, Dante’s Inferno for Facebook went through some major game balance changes over the past week. Among these changes was a complete change in stats for every item in game. Here is the updated free gift list:
Note: If a free gift is “Locked”, that just means you need to be a higher level. You will have access to most free gifts by level 100, and all the free gifts by level 110 or 120 (can’t remember exactly).
Relics:
Homer’s Odyssey – 9 attack, 4 defense.
Mordred’s Helmet – 6 attack, 15 defense.
Virgil’s Aeneid – 19 attack, 19 defense.
Caiaphas Statue – 24 attack, 55 defense.
Golden Fleece – 29 attack, 67 defense.
Heavenly Messenger’s Trumpet – 85 attack, 36 defense.
Weapons:
Cat of Nine Tails – 15 attack, 2 defense.
Crusader’s Sword – 38 attack, 4 defense.
Minotaur Horns – 44 attack, 19 defense.
Madness of Dionysius – 6 attack, 52 defense.
Axe of Anguish – 113 attack, 12 defense.
Nero’s Death Dagger – 158 attack, 17 defense. (Unlocks around level 110-120).

What These Changes Mean
At first glance, it appears as if this is a big nerf to all the free gifts. To that I say, yes and no. Overall, all items across the board received a general stat point deduction. The result of this deduction is that overall in the fighting formula, items are now accounted for less (albeit slightly) and stat points and faction size are weighted more heavily. Despite this change, equipment and item score is still the major contributor to success in fights.
With that said, some items, especially Nero’s Death Dagger, did not get hit as hard as other items. In it’s old reiteration, Nero’s Death Dagger was behind many of the purchasable weapons, being slightly worse than the Claymore Sword in offensive capability. Now the Nero’s Death Dagger is better than the Claymore Sword and Firewalk, which was the next offensive weapon in line.
Nero’s Death Dagger now does not get beat out until you can pick up a Tomb Shield, which run over 100,000 souls a piece. Considering you can use one weapon for each faction member, it is in your best interest to collect as many Nero’s Death Daggers as possible.
